One of the most popular attractions in Mcleodganj is the Bhagsu falls. This reasonably peaceful walk gives a clear target and will ideally entice travellers to try even longer and tough walks to the north of McLeod Ganj in the mountains.

Trekking further up the road will take you to the cafe from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire valley of Bhagsu. McLeodganj’s major market is situated 2 km away from the falls.

Tibetan Museum

This museum illustrates the plight of the people of Tibet in the form of videos and photographs portraying how they are battling against the Chinese occupation for their rights.

Triund Hill

This hill is the culmination of the Triund Trek, at a distance of 2.2 kilometers from the Bhagsu falls. For all adventure seekers, this trek is the ideal experience and is a moderate-level trek to cover. From the top of Triund Hill, you can see the glorious Dhauladhar range.

Ayuskama Ayurveda Institute

It is a healthcare organization engaged in Ayurveda science, science, and education. It bases this organization in Dharamshala, which is also the birthplace of H.H. the Dalai Lama’s.

Temple of Bhagsunath

It is one of Lord Shiva’s historical temples. A small natural swimming pool is also part of the temple complex. There are also temples of other gods and goddesses, aside from the idol of Lord Shiva.

Temple of Guna Devi

This temple is at the starting point from which the Triund trek begins. You should take a cab to get here and give your prayers at the temple. If you have time and enthusiasm for adventure, indulge in the Triund trek from here.

Naddi View Point

This location provides spectacular views of the massive ranges of Dhauladhar. This is the easiest way to see this hill range since it does not require trekking or long-distance hikes. While feasting on your favourite snacks here, you will admire the views.

Best Time to Visit Bhagsu Falls

When the weather is most good here, the best time to visit the Bhagsu falls is in October or November. The days are bright and warm during these months, and the nights are nice.

Shortly after the monsoon rains, the perfect time of the year to visit the waterfalls is when the river is fed by groundwater and not melting snow. The waters gush over the 10-m cliff from November through to February and create spectacular cascades while flowing downstream. Expect a mere trickle during the dry and hot season, March through to June, which would definitely disappoint you.

How to Reach Bhagsu Falls?

The place is accessible by taxis and cars from all over Mcleodganj and Dharamshala, after which you will have to trek to the top for a while. If you’re going out with children and elderly people, you can take a rickshaw or a taxi to the Bhagsu falls.

  1. Wear good shoes, as you must walk between the Bhagsunath temple and the Bhagsu falls on rugged terrain.
  2. The weather gets cool because of rainstorms, so take some warm clothes with you.
  3. The area around the waterfall is slippery or, because of rain, can get slick, so walk to avoid any injury with maximum caution.
