Uttarakhand formerly known as Uttaranchal is a part of northern India. Dehradun is the Capital city of Uttarakhand in winter and Gairsain is the capital city of Uttarakhand in summer. Best Season to Travel Uttarakhand
From April to September is the best time to travel to Uttarakhand to Hills for trekking, Skiing, and other mountain tours. This time temperature is between 12 to 32 Degrees C.
From October to March the temperature is coming down to minus degrees. So this time better to avoid trekking and mountain travels. Because heavy snowfall will happen this time. The average temperature is between -3 to 20 Degrees C.
The best time to visit Uttarakhand is considered March to April and mid-September to mid-October. The most common activities during Summer are Trekking, Paragliding, and The Char Dham Yatra, which is also the peak season in Uttarakhand. However, winters are ideal for rafting in Rishikesh from November to February and spotting wildlife in Jim Corbett National Park.
Some parts of Uttarakhand like Mussoorie and experience snowfall at Nainital. While a year-round destination, visiting Uttarakhand during peak monsoons in July and August is not recommended. During the monsoon season, though, Valley of Flowers is a perfect picture.
The rainy season begins earlier in the plains and continues up to September. The average rainfall is 1,050 mm.
